| Tablet PC's - What is Penabled?
|
Wacom Penabled® Technology is the name we give our patented pen input sensor technology and the technology we build into tablet PCs and graphic tablets. No matter which brand of tablet PC you select, when you see the Penabled logo, you can be sure that your tablet PC has features like:
No battery in pen. Patented battery-free technology allows pen to be powered by the tablet. It is maintenance-free and never needs charging.
Cordless. No external cords or wires to fuss with, break, or get in your way.
Pressure sensitive. The pen literally feels the full range of pressure from your hand and transmits the information to any one of over a hundred tablet-enhanced applications that support pressure-sensitivity and extended Wacom features*. A pressure-sensitive pen is incredibly intuitive for photo editing, painting, and writing, because it's how tools work in the real world.
Side switch(es). Allows you to program the pen for features typically associated with a mouse: right-click, double-click, even a keystroke shortcut.**
High resolution. Penabled pens meet or exceed Microsoft's pen requirements for tablet PCs. The high resolution of Penabled pens assures that handwriting and drawing will be accurate and precise.
Eraser option. Upgrading to a Penabled pen with eraser greatly enhances the tablet PC experience--it's as natural as writing and erasing with a regular pencil!
Open-standard compatibility. Many pressure-sensitive software applications predate the tablet PC, installing the new enhanced driver will ensure that Tablet PC users enjoy the same advanced application features valued by Wacom tablet owners.
* Pressure-sensitive applications that predate the tablet PCs require installation of the enhanced driver for tablet PC.
** Requires installation of the enhanced driver for tablet PCs to extend existing software with pen and ink and to develop new applications using this technology.
