Photography

Half the challenge, and fun, happens when you get a digital image back on your computer.  Here, Wacom can help you make a difference.

Getting Started with Digital Photography

What are you doing with your digital images? Let Wacom show you how to open up new possibilities with the use of a pen tablet and your favorite photo-editing software.

From Camera to Computer

Images from your digital camera, whether taken with a smart phone or a DSLR, most likely give you high-resolution images that you can edit, retouch, improve and incorporate into all kinds of projects. Online cloud services, like Apple’s iCloud or Adobe Revel, automatically synchronize your photos to all your devices, making it easy to view and work on photos any way you choose. And photo-editing software, like Adobe® Photoshop® Elements, gives you a great tool with which to work on your images. Your Wacom pen tablet is a fun, easy, and natural way to get great results. Here’s how to get started.

What Can I Do?

Not every photo deserves your time and effort back on the computer. But those you want to share, those that have special meaning, deserve a little love. Start by taking out unwanted details and firming up the composition. Easily brighten the eyes or add a little color to pupils. Use a Wacom pen to more easily follow the natural contours in your photo, adding color to lips, for example. Naturally enhance skin tones or remove blemishes. As you experiment, selectively add effects to an image or make powerful visuals by combining various image elements into all-new photo compositions. Doing all of this with a natural-looking result is made possible by Wacom’s renowned pressure-sensitive pen control.

Fun Projects

Besides improving on the image and helping you attain your desired result, a Wacom pen tablet makes it easy to create digitally hand crafted cards, invitations, newsletters, and unique holiday projects. Check out some of the photo-editing work shared by current Wacom tablet users for a taste of what’s possible. See how to make a holiday card. Use pen and ink over your images to create a story. Try your hand at online or printed photo album projects, custom travel journals, or memory books complete with handwritten notes. Share your photo creations with your personal touch and flair.

How does it work?

All of this is best done working with a Wacom pen tablet instead of a mouse. The tablet makes it easier for you to use your software and navigate around your work – it feels more natural, like you’re working directly on the photo. How does it work? Simply plug in your pen tablet to any Mac or PC (see system requirements), then download and install the included software. Watch our Getting Started videos and you’ll be on your way. Popular creative applications have tools and features that work work in a whole new and better way when a Wacom tablet is attached. This makes the software easier to use and even more help with your projects.
