Danko is a freelance 3D artist specializing in modeling, digital sculpting and texture painting, but it’s safe to say that he also has a pretty good general knowledge of art.
Danko lives and works in the paradise of the Italian countryside. His office is a garage he turned into his personal studio, with computers, monitors, hard drives and graphic tablets running 24/7.
That’s what he says – and we believe it. When we asked him to participate in the Pioneers of Now campaign with a self-portrait in his very own style, he responded immediately and it was only a couple of hours before he sent his first concept and artwork. Maybe some Pioneers never actually sleep?
Danko is not only incredibly fast in his work, but also very friendly, cooperative and courteous in his emails. He is just as mad about the details of his work as he is pioneering about the overall concepts. Or have you ever seen a self-portrait of a 3D artist as a neo-classicist-style bionic sculpture shaping himself with the help of his inspiring monster mentor? Have you ever watched someone demonstrate the link between state-of-the-art 3D creativity and the classic marble sculptures we all admire in the museums? Well, you have now.
Danko works on various projects including video games, feature films, rapid prototyping, and modeling for prints.
He’s been an official Wacom Evangelist since December 2011.
