Q. My tablet worked fine when I installed it into OS 10.2.7 or 8 but when I restarted it didn't work anymore. What happened?

A. There may be a problem in the kext.cache file that is preventing the tablet from working.
The following steps will correct the problem:
  1. Uplug tablet from USB port
  2. Uninstall driver using “remove tablet” script
  3. Go into hard drive: system: and highlight library folder
  4. Command+I keystroke gets info on the folder
  5. Go to ownership/permissions… select it and unlock it
  6. Change owner from “system” to “yourself (users name)”
  7. Lock it back up. You will need to enter your admin password
  8. Go into library folder and delete: “extensions.kextcache” and “extensions.mkext”
  9. Empty trash
  10. Highlight library folder
  11. Command+I for get info
  12. Go to “ownership/permissions” and unlock. Change back to “system”
  13. Lock it again. Close window and restart computer
  14. After system is ready. Plug in tablet
  15. Install tablet driver and test the tablet. It should work normally when you restart as well.
