Jimmie Fisher
Shamus gets around. One minute he’s BASE jumping. The next he’s at the skate park or trying out his hunting skills. The adventures of Shamus come from Jimmie Fisher’s imagination.
As a lifelong learner with a lifetime passion for art, Jimmie has taught himself many things. But it was only after a successful corporate career that Jimmie took up his photography and art interests, adding a professional photo school to his resume on top of his information technology degree. It was here that he picked up his first Wacom tablet.
“I used to draw traditionally, then scan the images in and place them in my composition in Photoshop,” Jimmie says. “Now, I am going digital. My line drawings and strokes have significantly improved with the use of a tablet. I’m also much more proficient with coloring, shading and blending using my Wacom than I was using a mouse.”
Jimmie adds, “I love the pressure sensitivity and the resulting line variations that can be achieved by using the tablet and pen. The capabilities of creating various brush styles are endless. Just changing the line stroke with a particular brush can change the overall effect of a drawing.”
Mixing painterly effects and hand-drawn line work with both his own imagery and found images, Jimmie has found his visual voice in Pennsylvania. Wacom, for one, appreciates that he is putting his work out there for others to see and enjoy. And thanks for sharing the adventures of Shamus!
