Step 1:
We thought this interesting old sign would make a great digital painting. Working in Photoshop with a Wacom pen, we got started by creating a small border around the source image by increasing the canvas size. We pressed 'D' to set our swatch colors to black and white, then pressed 'X' to make the background color black. We selected Canvas Size from the Image menu and added 60 pixels in width and length to give us a little room to work.
