VISTA - Gestures

Navigate Using gestures and Flicks

There are a variety of pen gestures available within Vista that allow you to navigate faster and that greatly enhance the overall computing experience.

Pen flicks are quick, linear pen movements associated with scrolling actions and commands. A flick is characterized by high speed and a high degree of straightness. A flick is identified by its direction. Flicks can be made in eight directions corresponding to the cardinal and secondary compass directions.

Vista includes eight basic pen flicks that are default directions and their corresponding actions.

Customizing Pen Flicks

You can easily customize pen flicks to perform functions that you use on a regular basis. Select: START > CONTROL PANEL > PEN AND INPUT DEVICES > FLICKS TAB. On the FLICKS tab, select NAVIGATIONAL AND EDITING FLICKS and then select CUSTOMIZE to access the Control Panel that will allow you to customize.

Learning to Use Pen Flicks

Vista includes a tutorial for pen flicks that offers options, practice exercises, and explanations. The tutorial is offered the first time the system detects that the user has performed a pen flick. Although encouraged to learn about and use pen flicks, users can disable their use through the Control Panel.
