Storytelling through sculptures: An attractive and well-presented sculpture is successful in reaching its objective and remembered long after the event. Works of art often tell a story. Artists can present narrative in many ways - by using a series of figures representing moments in a story or by selecting a central moment to stand for the whole story. Narrative works often illustrate well-known historical, religious, legendary or mythical stories. However, artists often make up their own stories, leaving the viewer to imagine the narrative. Holding the viewer’s interest and crossing age barriers is the essence of effective storytelling. Knowing and applying the art of storytelling not only strengthens sculpting, but also develops the desired interest in the audience.
