Encountering others / drawing to connect

Japanese, simultaneous translation available in English
Online stream and on stage in : Tokyo

"The spirit of an old Japanese saying “Ichi-go Ichi-e” or “Once Only Encounter” (meaning “treasure every encounter as it will never reoccur”) is alive in past works of creation and architecture, location and space. Explanations of the work are accompanied by the meaning behind the concept of “drawing to connect” using drawings and photographs. Past activities include a series of KOPPA projects using recycled scrap wood (encounter with raw materials and carpentry constructions), “arts and scrap wood” (encounter of multiple stories), “strawberry workshop in Gifu” (encountering local products and people), “ikebukuro living loop” and the “CHIMATO Factory (a platform for gathering, connecting with and capacity-building of people”.  * Stage KOPPA also used for this year’s event was rewarded the Kukan Space Award 2021 and elected Sustainable Space of the Year (https://kukan.design/2021-sustainable-sokuho/)"
