Getting Started with paper sketching on your Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition

Follow the steps below to set up paper sketching for your Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition.

How to pair your Wacom Intuos Pro via Bluetooth® to your computer.

1. Make sure your Wacom Intuos Pro is turned on by pressing the power button on the side of the device. 

2. Open the Bluetooth settings/preferences on your computer. Press the round button on your Wacom Intuos Pro until the blue LED near the Wacom logo starts blinking. 

3. On your computer, select “Bluetooth Intuos Pro” and then ‘Pair.’  

How to save a sketch and create layers 

Make sure your Wacom Intuos Pro is powered on whenever you sketch. To save your sketch and start a new one, press the round button..The + LED will change from blue to green. To create a new layer within your sketch, double click on the round button and continue sketching. The + LED will blink blue twice. Press the round button once when you have completed your sketch.

How to transfer a sketch to Inkspace app

If you have already installed and setup the Wacom Inkspace app on your computer, when you connect your Intuos Pro via USB or Bluetooth, your sketches will automatically transfer to your Inkspace App library. If you are connected to your computer via Bluetooth and your sketch does not appear in the Inkspace App library after a few seconds, press the round button.

How to sketch anywhere

Your device is designed to capture your sketches anywhere, especially away from your computer. Sketches will be stored in the device memory and transferred when you connect back to the Wacom Inkspace app.

You will need the Wacom Finetip Pen or the Wacom Ballpoint Pen with the Wacom Paper Clip to hold the sheets in place. All of these accessories can be purchased from the Wacom estore.

The Wacom Finetip Pen and the Wacom Paper Clip are already included if you purchase Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition.

It is required that you download and install the Wacom Inkspace App in order to setup paper sketching, transfer your sketches and export them into your favorite software applications.

Connect your Wacom Intuos Pro via USB or Bluetooth and open the Wacom Inkspace App. If you have previously connected your Intuos Pro with the app, your sketches will transfer automatically. If you have not, you will need to complete setup first in order to transfer your sketches.

Yes. Go to the Wacom eStore to purchase the Wacom Finetip Pen or the Wacom Ballpoint Pen, and the Wacom Paper Clip – these accessories are required for paper sketching.

You do not need to be connected to your computer to paper sketch. Paper sketching can operate standalone, meaning you can sketch away from your computer and your sketches will be saved in Intuos Pro internal memory. Once you return to your desk, you can transfer your sketches to your computer using the Wacom Inkspace App.


You do not need special paper in order to sketch with your Intuos Pro. However sketching is only able within the active area on the tablet designated by the corner marks on the tablet.

Yes. If you do not purchase the Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition, you need the Wacom Finetip pen or the Wacom Ballpoint pen (sold as accessory only) in order to sketch with your Intuos Pro.

Wacom Inkspace App lets you export your sketches as PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF, PSD and WILL files.

Up to 200 pages (with unlimited layers) can be stored in the memory of your Intuos Pro tablet without having to connect to the internet.

Yes you can create layers when paper sketching. Simply double tap the center button of the touch ring to create a new layer. You can create an unlimited number of layers within a sketch.
